Tragic Rooftop Accident in Japan

was in Japan or at least with old Japanese crew and we were getting beers on top of this building rooftop bar. It was really cool, a bunch of buildings all close together and about the same height where you could hang out on and see the city view. There were no railings tho and you COULD jump from building to building if you wanted but wasn't a good idea.  We were up there having a good time and talking and Carl had this little golden poodle type dog with a harness on that was running around. The dog kept getting a little close to edge so we kept calling it back but it would inevitably go over again soon. Carl went to go get another round or piss or something and the dog came over to me for a pet and then over to the edge again. It looked like it was seeing if it could jump to the other building, so we yelled to it and it maybe got scared and like half jumped or just got startled and jumped off the side but just barely, not enough to make it to the other side. I reached out to grab it but only got fur of the back or leg and it wasn't enough to grab it so it..went down. We all screamed and immediately started the hysterics. Carl came back and we were all like crying. He didn't know why for a second and then realized the dog wasn't there and put it together. Then he threw the beers and hysterics started for him too. It was so sad, there was a little blame thrown at me that I should've kept him away or been able to catch him but it was just caught up in the moment and obviously untrue. We eventually calmed down and slowed our breathing and eventually just melted into the floor and all just laid there in their own despondent thoughts.
