Started teaching at a high school in like

started teaching at a high school in like middle of Long Island. Had a class of 20 and my teacher-mate had a class of 25 in the big gym room next door. We had a spelling quiz first day and had to watch the kids. Then we played basketball for gym after moving all the desks aside. One of my good kids pulled me aside and said to watch my back cause one of the school gangs didn't like me. Didn't want a white teacher. Thanked him for the heads up. Then I had a flight somewhere after at 7pm so had to kinda run after school right to airport.
