Mom's Disappearance and Bridge Threat
Started out with all family living in manhattan. We we\'re taking a nice
stroll around a park on the east side. Then next day mom said she was
leaving. Don\'t think it was due to dad cheating on her or anything. So
she left, we all thought she would be back soon, because she didn\'t
want to stay at a hotel or anything. Just kindof live on the streets.
She\'d call every other day. It\'s been over a week now and I\'m
determined to get her home. I talk to her next time she calls and ask
where she is. She won\'t tell me but she says I can meet her in this
park. I go and find her walking around. We walk together and I ask her
what her plan is and why she won\'t come back. Her answer is vague/didnt
make sense. She leaves. I\'m sad. I\'m determined to find her. Next day,
I call her cell phone and she answers this time. I walk by this chain
link fence in the park that has the dark construction netting over it
and hear her on the other side as I she talks to me on the phone. I stop
as say \'look left\' to where I am standing on the other side. She gasps
and comes out from the other side. \"How did you find me? Blah blah\"
next I know we\'re in a clinic near the park(lower east side park on the
water somewhere). We\'re walking around inside. The place is like a mix
of a library and a hospital. People are scattered about, most sitting in
the chairs lining the rooms. Most rooms seem like waiting rooms. I
follow my mom as she seems to know where she\'s going. We\'re talking:
\'so what\'s your plan mom?\' She pauses, \'well\....I\'m thinking about
the bk bridge..\' Knowing what that means, I ask \'what for\' anyway.
She looks at me and says \'..you know..\' I start to tear up and say
\'Why!?\'ย She looks at me and says..\'well..you know..what do you do
all day!?\' In an insinuating way that makes it sound like what we, her
children, and all the people of this world, do nothing meaningful all
the time. I start chocking up which quickly turns to tears and crying.
Through my just started crying, I say \'well..miss you..!\' She then
stops and looks at me for a second before turning back and continuing on
in front of me, up a short flight of carpeted stairs. I can see the
tears in her eyes and one roll off her face. \'Thats..kindof..a perfect
answer..\' She says through her crying. She continues on and I follow
her up the stairs. End.
