Heartwarming Return to Teaching in Japan

My first day back teaching in Japan. I was in the teacher housing and lived next to Sam Scott. His parents were in town from Australia and were in his room when I came over to say hi. We chatted for a bit then they had to leave to the airport to fly home. The next day was my first day back teaching and was mostly shadowing Sam as I got back in the groove of things. It wasnโ€™t the same school we used to text at, was one if the public schools now. It just so happened to be their last day of school, yet it was my first, so all the kids were outside running around. My old 2-year old student Runo saw me and came running over for a hug! I didnโ€™t expect to see her at this school and was so surprised and happy. So happy she remembered me too. But she was only slightly older than when I taught her, almost 10 years ago.
