Grandma Eva's House and the Glowing Tree Line

Date of dreams unknown. When you walked in my Grandma Eva’s back door, it put you in like a sun porch. She lived very frugally (think 1920s mindset) in this old farmhouse, and the house was many years old at the time she lived there. Grandma Eva lived alone after her husband Karl passed away. She handed the house down to my father when she passed away, and my parents moved in with my brother the summer year I turned 11 or 12 (born in December 89’) so whatever year that was. I dreamt of the smell of the way the back porch smells as you walk in (something when Grandma Eva lived there I always thought was a part of her but after she died and we moved everything of hers out, and repainted, and cleaned and redecorated, it still smelled like her. Then the top do the stairs to the basement also had a separate smell that was not bad but it was disarming to the senses and made you wonder what was causing the smell. Probably mold or mildew to be honest. Not sure. Anyway, in the dreams I saw everything in the sun porch there as it was/would be in vivid detail and then I turned to go into basement (not something I’d usually do in real life)but I think I just smelled the smell and got freaked out and woke up. The next night, same dream but I got further. I was able to visualize some people on or around the porch making soap, for example. I think these people lived there before Grandma maybe and so that was certainly before me and my family lived there. However, one of the most vivid parts that came next (or sometime just around then) and carried on for several nights in a row, recurring the exact same way and ending with me sometimes having lucidity at the end (meaning I could kind of manipulate and rewind or replay parts of the dreams and I could at least think to myself personal thoughts while I was the observer and watched these events/things happen and sometimes try to manipulate things or next parts to happen). The detail that still stands out to me this many years later is a line of trees which I believed in the dream to be in grandma Eva’s yard on the West side of the home (which would have been just outside my bedroom and consisted of really tall trees that lined up in a row and it was night time and sometimes I’d have a 3rd person realization in the dream that I was outside alone in the dark seeing this aerial view of these trees that had to be tall with a kind of lit up path in the middle. As I write this, I wonder if this was the beginning of me being able to kind of dream in a lucid state (kind of out of body experience I could manipulate). It was like a runway guiding me home..(last thing I would see before waking up from a dream that was wiped as I cannot remember anything previous).

✧ AI Analysis: This dream pulls you back into the sensory and emotional landscape of your grandmother's farmhouse, where smell becomes the primary portal — not just to a place, but to a person who has passed. The lingering scent that survived repainting and redecorating suggests your mind associates Grandma Eva's presence with something permanent, almost spiritual, woven into the walls themselves. The glowing line of trees — aerial, nocturnal, runway-like — seems to represent both a threshold and a homecoming, hinting that these early recurring dreams may have been your first brush with the kind of lucid awareness that lets you stand between worlds, observer and participant at once.
