Whale shark farm - was somewhere fairly tropical, like Mexico or Puerto Rico. A few of us went on this field trip to this tour in the water off the coast. We went in the water with the natives and watched them use this old warmer whale shark farming technique they've been doing forever - they built a long skinny canal in the water that had two big pens at either end.  One the whale shark was of size(still very small but I guess mature?) they would open one of the pens and let the shark swim into the tiny canal, where it could only go straight and not really get away, then they would net it or gaff it with a bamboo spear. They did this and it seemed incredibly normal, as they've been doing it forever. Then they prepared it and we were to eat it, which i did and which was very delicious. The whale sharks looked like babies, only a little bigger than a normal sting ray, but I guess that was normal and they apparently had an abundance of them there and this was a normal cuisine of the natives. Then I rode on the back of a pickup truck with some of the native tour guides and ate shake and they told me all about it. They respected the fish immensely and all seemed normal and fine.
