Roller Hockey Tournament Victory Warmup

was in this big event hosting room that was large and open and the floor was both carpeted outer and then hard wood floor interior, for like dance floors and things. There were maybe 3-4 big rectangle hard wood areas like this. I was there for a roller hockey tournament that was being played one each of these 3-4 hardwood areas: no boards, the goals were made of duck tape and were only like 4ft wide and 2ft tall, not sure if there were goalies or not. I just got new indoor wheels on my skates and they were super sticky which gave me incredible grip on the wood. I skated over to my new team that I guess I just tried out for and just made the team like earlier that day. Gino gabianelli(from old PIMCO job) was on my team and welcomed me aboard. We were waiting to play on the far rink and there was a pop-up pro shop setup here so we were looking at some new hockey sticks. Gino pulled this beauty off the rack and handed it to me and said “use this”. I tried it out and it was an immediate upgrade. Much longer than the sticks I’m normally using but that gave my slapshot so much more torque and power that I was RIPPING the puck. Well for now I was practicing on the air puck cause we hadn’t started yet but it felt great, was pumped to get out there. The coach, a middle aged woman, said let’s go and we all hopped on the hardwood area and started skating to warm up. My wheels felt so good I was doing these super tight infinity loop crossovers and felt amazing. Then started shooting some practice pucks with my new stick and a half power slapshot was an absolutely RIPPER. Was so pumped to play and shoot on an actual goalie in a game. Woke up.
