Easter Birds and Blooming Memories

I was home on Long Island for Easter with my two sisters, Julia and Jackie. We were with my mom, and we went for this neighborhood tour type thing. I don't know if it was guided or not, but it went through this spot in maybe a green lawn and went down this block that went around the high school. This block had all these really cool exotic birds on it. We got off the tour and walked around town a little bit. I remember walking through the neighborhood and taking a turn and just being really happy to be home for Easter on the East Coast in the spring, where all the flowers and plants are blooming and flourishing. Unlike on the West Coast, where everything's just still the same and a little more dry and brown. We turned the corner on this one block on foot, and I just remember seeing the grass looked so lush. It brought this feeling of joy over me that I wanted to just lay in the grass, and it's nice I could do that here. We walked down the block, and it reminded us of the Philips, where Kyle used to live in the old house. We started noticing more of these very exotic birds that were filling up all of the trees and hanging out in each tree, which had its own species of bird. These beautiful white birds with big googly eyes were in this white tree, maybe a magnolia tree or something, where the flowers were blooming and they blended right in. They were way bigger, so they were easy to spot, but just perfectly matched to the tree, and there were multiple instances of this, with different trees having different species of exotic birds in them. Out of one of the houses came a buddy we met in San Diego, Clint, and his mom. They lived in one of these houses and told us not to tell anyone about this secret, kept exotic bird street. Otherwise, they would get a ton of tourists coming to look at these birds and things. We left this little neighborhood, and Julie and Jackie wanted to go to their old high school, which was not the high school I went to in real life. We went into this high school, and the inside was very normal high school halls and just hallways and lockers lining them and things like that, but the outside was almost this medieval, brutalist jail-type architecture. There was this big spire behind it that went up hundreds of feet, towering over. Now it was kind of getting to early dusk, where some light was shining through in interesting ways. I had my new camera that I just got and took a bunch of pictures of the birds on the street and then took a bunch of cool architecture pictures from this school. There was a low fog rolling in on one side, so at the lower end you had this low fog over this brick and steel combination. As you panned up, you had this big spire that was casting these really cool long shadows of early dusk over the school and the other architecture, so it was really cool. Inside the school, I saw a sign that said Coheed and Cambria and Anthony Green are coming soon to the school. It was an old sign for when I guess those two musical artists performed at the high school, which was pretty cool. They kept it as a relic. We went into this other door that was like a craft fair. Then Clint and his mom picked us up in their car and drove us through town. We were going to find a restaurant or somewhere fun to go for karaoke and to have some beers. woke up.
