I was back at PIMCO, chatting with Joe Szalay. He had really climbed the ranks at this point and was at the top and still made time to hang out with us for a cup of coffee and tea time or something. We were just chatting about how he climbed the ranks and how we both went to underdog SUNY Albany and here he's at almost the top of PIMCO, a multi-billion dollar finance firm. Just telling him how proud I was of him and his work ethic and just as a human in general, he's just a fantastic guy. I was just really proud of him. He deserved it. He deserved it because he worked for it harder than anyone else and was never going to allow himself to NOT get there.
